GENESIS 19:5
King James Version
(GENES 19:4) But before they lay down, the
men of the city, even the men of
Sodom, compassed the house round, both old
and young, all the
people from every quarter:
(GENES 19:5) And they called unto Lot, and
said unto him, Where are the men
which came in to thee this night? bring them
out unto us, that
we may know them.
(GENES 19:6) And Lot went out at the door
unto them, and shut the door
after him,
(GENES 19:7) And said, I pray you, brethren,
do not so wickedly.
Joseph Smith Inspired Version
6 But before they lay down to rest, the men
of the city of Sodom compassed
the house round, even men which were both
old and young, even the people from
every quarter;
7 And they called unto Lot, and said unto
him, Where are the men which came
in unto thee this night? bring them out unto
us, that we may know them.
8 And Lot went out of the door, unto them,
and shut the door after him, and
said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
The New American Standard Bible
4 Before they lay down, the men of the
city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house,
both young and old, all the people from
every quarter;
5 and they called to Lot and said to
him, "Where are the men who came to
you tonight? Bring them out to us that we
may have relations with them."
6 But Lot went out to them at the doorway,
and shut the door behind him,
7 and said, "Please, my brothers,
do not act wickedly."
The Jerusalem Bible
